SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
We take unsolicited submissions of short stories, poetry, and artwork year-round. Unfortunately, at this time, we are a non-paying venue, but contributors will receive a free digital copy of the issue in which their work appears.
Short stories (50+ words, three per document); Poetry (five per document); Artwork (five as separate files).
Works should be appropriate for high school readers and up (think ages 15+).
- No glorifying sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, or any other isms,
We are avid supporters of the LGBTQ+ and POC communities; submissions attacking any community will be automatically rejected; - It must be your own original work;
- Please note if it has been previously published—
Must not have been previously published by Nat 1, Gaslamp Pulp, or Audience Askew. - It does not infringe on existing copyright material (this includes fan fiction);
- No AI-rendered art or text;
- Simultaneous submissions are okay. If accepted elsewhere, let us know ASAP (you do not need to withdraw unless the other publisher requires it—we can publish as a reprint!);
- We read submissions blind. Do not put any identifying information on your submission, including the file name.
Issue Themes and Selection Process:
- Three issues are released per year, one dedicated to Fantasy, another to Science Fiction, and the third to a special theme.
- We make our decisions on which works are accepted the month after a volume’s submission call ends.
We accept submissions only through Submittable. Submissions sent via email will be deleted unread.
